1. The service

Renewley is an application that helps you track items with expiry dates — like warranties, insurance policies, passports, registrations, subscriptions, and payment cards — and sends you email reminders before they lapse. Renewley is operated by an individual ("Renewley," "we," "us," or "our").

2. Accounts & eligibility

You need an account to use Renewley, created via email/password or Google sign-in through our authentication provider, Clerk. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Renewley. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Your content

You own the information you put into Renewley — your items, notes, attachments, and anything else you add to your vault ("your content"). We don't claim ownership of it. We only access or process it as needed to operate the Service (for example, to send your reminder emails or, if you use the AI scan or email-forwarding features, to extract fields from a document or email you've submitted).

You're responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, and for making sure you have the right to store any document or content you upload.

4. Free tier, trial & Pro purchase

Renewley offers a permanent free tier (up to 10 items, core features) and a one-time Pro upgrade for $29.99 USD that unlocks unlimited items, AI document scanning, email forwarding, card-linked autopay reminders, and cost analytics. There is no subscription and no recurring charge — once you pay, Pro access doesn't expire and won't be billed again.

New accounts also get a 7-day trial of all Pro features automatically, with no payment required and no card on file. When the trial ends, your account converts to the free tier automatically; nothing is charged, and your data is preserved.

Pro purchases are processed by Stripe. We don't store your full payment card details.

5. Refunds

If you're unhappy with your Pro purchase, contact us at hello@renewley.com within 14 days of payment and we'll consider a refund on a case-by-case basis. This doesn't affect any refund rights you may have under the law of your country or state.

6. Reminder emails & accuracy

Renewley sends reminder emails at 90, 30, 14, 7, and 1 day before an item's expiry date, based on the information you've entered. Renewley is a reminder tool, not a guarantee. We are not responsible for missed renewals, lapsed coverage, late fees, failed autopayments, or any other consequence resulting from an expiry date you entered incorrectly, an email that didn't arrive (for example, due to spam filtering or an email provider outage), or a reminder you dismissed or unsubscribed from. You're responsible for verifying your own renewal dates and for taking action on them.

7. Email forwarding & AI scanning

Pro and trial users may forward emails to a personal Renewley address or photograph documents to have items drafted automatically using AI (Anthropic's Claude). These drafts are extracted automatically and may contain errors — you're responsible for reviewing and correcting a draft before saving it. Nothing is added to your vault without your confirmation.

Your personal forwarding address is not password-protected; anyone who obtains it could submit content that creates drafts in your account. Keep it private, and regenerate it if you believe it's been exposed.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Renewley for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or vault data.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Use the email-forwarding or AI scan features to submit content you don't have the right to process, or to abuse the underlying AI service (for example, sending unrelated or malicious content to your forwarding address).
  • Resell or redistribute access to Renewley without our permission.

9. Card data

If you choose to add a payment card to Renewley for expiry tracking, you confirm you only enter the card's nickname, network, last 4 digits, and expiry date — Renewley's interface does not collect a full card number or CVV, and you should never attempt to enter one. Renewley does not process payments using any card you add for tracking purposes.

10. Third-party services

Renewley relies on third-party providers — including Clerk, Cloudflare, Stripe, Resend, Anthropic, and Vercel — to operate. Your use of Renewley is also subject to the applicable terms of these providers where relevant (for example, Stripe's terms govern the payment itself). We aren't responsible for outages or issues caused by a third-party provider's own systems.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

Renewley is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any reminder will be delivered or delivered on time.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Renewley and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including any loss resulting from a missed renewal, lapsed policy, or failed payment. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $29.99, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations on liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13. Termination

You may stop using Renewley and delete your account at any time by emailing hello@renewley.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including the acceptable use provisions in Section 8. If you've purchased Pro, termination for your own convenience doesn't entitle you to a refund beyond what's described in Section 5.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continuing to use Renewley after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, regardless of where you access Renewley from.
